Liv Morgan, the current women’s world champion, is no doubt one of the top women’s professional wrestlers on the roster but this wasn’t always the case.
She started her career as a member of The Riot Squad in 2017 and later when the group disbanded she became a singles competitor in 2019 but it would take a few more years for dreams to turn into reality.
In 2022 her time would finally come, when she won the 2022 Money in the Bank ladder match and went on to cash it in the same night against Ronda Rousey to finally win the Women’s World Championship for the first time in her career.
This also made her the third woman and fifth wwe superstar to successfully cash-in the Money in the Bank contract the same night after winning it.
So it is safe to say that her career wasn’t really a smooth sailing but more like a roller coaster ride.
She has paid her dues to earn the respect of the WWE Universe and to reach the level that she has attained today.
And by now we may think we know who Liv Morgan is but here are 5 Secrets of Liv Morgan that you most probably did not know.

Arrested
Yes, Liv Morgan has an arrest record. On 14th December of 2023 in Sumter County, Florida, Liv was arrested for possession of Marijuana of not more than 20 grams.
The Sheriff’s deputy had stopped her vehicle after he saw it crossing over the white and yellow lines of a county road.
The deputy then smelled marijuana and found a “small plastic bag containing marijuana” and also found a vape pen with an “oil-like substance” that was later discovered to be marijuana.
However she was released at around 10:04 PM, after posting a $3000 bond.
Rough Childhood
Liv had a very rough childhood as her father died while she was just 16 years old.
Morgan was born in Morristown, New Jersey on June 8, 1994 and had 4 older brothers and a sister. Following the death of her father, her mother had to raise all six children and things got very tough.
She said in a total divas episode that they struggled to make ends meet and couldn’t even afford cable.
However, Liv was a huge WWE fan and would regularly participate in backyard wrestling with her siblings but since she did not have great clothes like other girls did she would end up dressing like Lita and would admire her a lot.
When asked about her backyard wrestling days, Liv Said, “I would literally take pedigrees and powerbombs like it was my job. I always pretended to be Lita. All the Divas were so glamorous and girly, and I was such a tomboy and didn’t have nice clothes. When I saw Lita come out in baggy pants and sneakers, wrestling the boys, I thought she was the coolest thing ever. I related to her.”
Hooters
Losing her father at a young age and being raised by a single mother, Liv faced difficulty getting through School and dropped out in 2010.
She was then looking for work and came across Hooters, Liv then applied there and got hired. She then had to get in shape to compete in Hooter’s Pageants and appear on their calendars.
This then led her to joining a Gym in New Jersey and in hindsight this decision really gave her the confidence and prepared her for WWE.
She later said the following about her experience at Hooters, “That dream became my mission when I dropped out of high school in 2010, during my sophomore year. Got my GED and across the street from the GED center was the Hooters. I went in there and I applied. I got hired and I loved it. Hooters are great. It gives so many opportunities to women. Aside from being a server, there’s the beauty pageants and the calendars”
How Did She Get Into WWE?
Morgan’s job at Hooters in reality helped her get into WWE, But How?
She revealed in an interview, that one day she was on her night shift and a wrestler from WWE came to Hooters for a casual visit.
Her manager then introduced her to the wrestler and told him how big of a fan she was of the WWE and while talking to the wrestler she told him everything she knew about wrestling.
The wrestler then introduced her to Joe DeFranco, a well known strength and cardio trainer.
She would then train with DeFranco for hours every single day and later DeFranco reached out to the WWE to get her into the tryout and 6 months later she would get her chance.
This is what Liv had said about her Tryout experience, “I’d train with him in the morning and then go to my Hooters shifts. Then my tryout finally came, and I was very prepared, not in wrestling, of course, because I had no wrestling training. Still, as far as strength and conditioning, I absolutely killed those cardio drills, and I got signed, and it was just like the craziest blessing in my entire life.”
Affair With Enzo Amore
The professional wrestler that walked into the hooters that night where Liv used to work was none other than Enzo Amore, yes, the former Cruserweight Champion.
It was Enzo who introduced her to Joe Defranco, and the duo together trained at Defranco’s gym and this is what Enzo had to say about the relationship in the interview, “The girl that I got a job in the WWE, my ex, is now their champion, Liv Morgan. I went to a Hooters to get food at Christmas and I saw her, and I asked about her. They said she wanted to be a wrestler, we connected, and then I got her a tryout, she got signed, and I dated her. Now she’s the champion.”
The relationship ended in 2017, although the reason why the relationship ended is unknown but many have speculated that Enzo repeatedly cheated on Liv with a stripper.
Enzo was later released from the WWE in 2018, when he was by a woman of sexual harassment and assault in Phoenix Arizona.
Anyhow it seems the duo has moved on and they are no longer following each other on instagram and have also deleted their previous posts together.
